Reasons Why Government Run Health Care is a Bad Idea

Reasons Why Government Run Health Care is a Bad Idea

1. Your benefits will be taxed. We’ve heard the promise time and again, “Your taxes won’t go up one cent,”…unless you have health insurance. Now, Congressional Democrats are proposing to tax the employer-provided benefits most Americans rely on for their medical care. Health insurance already costs too much. Taxing the health care benefits of hardworking Americans will increase its cost even more and drive additional Americans onto a government health care program.

2. If you like what you have, you will lose it. A new government-run plan will destroy your private health care coverage. While proponents of such a plan claim they will allow people to keep what they have, a government-run program will destroy private care, making it uncompetitive and more and more expensive. Millions of Americans who currently have private insurance will be forced onto a government plan.

3. Your care and drugs will be rationed. In every country with government-run health care, government health boards decide who is allowed to have what drugs, procedures, and treatments. For instance, Medicare patients were recently informed they would be denied virtual colonoscopies.

3. Your care and drugs will be rationed. In every country with government-run health care, government health boards decide who is allowed to have what drugs, procedures, and treatments. For instance, Medicare patients were recently informed they would be denied virtual colonoscopies.

4. You will be placed on wait lists. Government care not only means rationing, it means bureaucracy and delays. In Massachusetts, the model state for universal coverage, one clinic has a wait list of at least 1,600 people—about four months—for an initial appointment. As one Canadian judge wrote, “Access to a waiting list is not access to health care.” What good is government coverage if all it gets you is a spot on a waiting list?

5. The quality of your care will plummet. Government insurance comes with strings attached for patients and doctors—and the incentives are all wrong. Already, Medicare rewards doctors for the volume of care provided, not for outcomes. If you get well, the doctor sees you less and his income decreases. This government model gives incentive to cram more patients and appointments into every day because quantity, not quality, are what counts. Just imagine: your doctor’s office or hospital will become more and more like the DMV.

6. You will have less choice and freedom. Government has expanded to an unprecedented size. It has taken over banks and car companies and sunk our nation into unthinkable debt. Every day, we see Washington creeping into our bank accounts, our minivans, and now even our doctors’ offices. Obamacare will mean losing one of our most intimate freedoms—the freedom to choose our medical care.

Times They Are A Changing

It was 1994 when political candidates first discovered the web. A few candidates were cutting edge in 1994 former Michigan Representative Dick Chrysler was one such candidate who jumped on the web. Public Policy Groups, Political Action Committees and Non-Profits were just dipping their toes into the preverbal pool called the internet.

Fast forward fifteen years later everyone from Fortune Five Hundred companies to local Cub Scouts are on the web. It maybe a blog, FaceBook, twitter or a full blown website, individuals are on the net. The point is the web has broken us from the shackles of being depended on broadcasters for news and information. We can go and gather information on our own and form our own opinions pose to believing what we read in the New York Times or watch on CBS Evening News. We can watch the evening news in Tokyo if we so choose.

Well what is my point? I think we need to raise the stakes on the war on ideas. We must continue to put fourth our ideas and values. We need to respond to all of the lefts half-truths, distortion and outright lies.

Waste Fraud and Business as Usual

ABC News today reported on the gross incompetents handling of the stimulus program. How is it that congress allocates money to a district that doesn’t even exist. Here's a stimulus success story: In Arizona's 15th congressional district, 30 jobs have been saved or created with just $761,420 in federal stimulus spending. At least that's what the Web site set up by the Obama administration to track the $787 billion stimulus says. There's one problem, though: There is no 15th congressional district in Arizona; the state has only eight districts.

Now we want these clowns to run health care. How long before they start treating folks that don’t exist. Can anyone say FRAUD…

Meet the New Maryland GOP Chair

The Maryland GOP has just elected Audrey Scott. I’d just like to wish her all the best from Rodimus Andrew Blog. Madam Chairman feel free to call on me to shine the light of fiscal responsibility throughout cyber world. I am at Penn in college currently I can’t knock on doors however I can respond to the liberal filth machine in cyber space.

Chairman Scott is no stranger to politics she for years was a ray of light on the radically left PG County Council many times she stood up to Liberal spending machine. She knows how to deal with the left in Maryland.

Chairman Scott’s Message to the GOP - Welcome! I'm Audrey Scott the new Chairman of the Maryland Republican Party. I come to this position excited about our prospects in 2010 and anxious to hit the ground running. There's a lot to do. We need to find the best candidates to run at all levels, train them on how to use modern campaign techniques, help them raise the dollars they need and build the organization required to identify and turn out our voters.

I'm no stranger to Maryland politics. I have participated at every level of Republican politics from grass roots organizer to winning elective office. During my political career I have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for campaigns. My experience is extensive in three areas: working on political campaigns; running for - and winning - elective office ten times including three terms as mayor of Bowie; and serving in government as a Reagan and then George H.W. Bush appointee. Here in Maryland I served as the Secretary of the Department of Planning in the Bob Ehrlich administration.

As we enter 2010, I look forward to introducing you to our great candidates; their compelling messages and issue positions; and what you can do to help them restore responsible, results-oriented, fiscally responsible government to the people.

MRC.org - Media Research Center

MSNBC's Nancy Snyderman attacked Catholic bishops on Thursday for opposing abortion funding in the health care bill, agreeing with the President of NOW that the IRS should investigate them. The "Dr. Nancy" host also complained, "This is going to be a Pollyannaish statement. The Catholic bishops appearing and having a political voice seems to be a most fundamental violation of church and state." <more>

Anyone care to guess what the Media's response would be if Dr. Snyderman said this about Muslims? As a Catholic I am deeply offended by remarks of Dr. Snyderman. MSNBC Stop pushing your Pro-Abortion, Pro-Gay, Pro-Socialist Agenda on us.

CNSNews.com - Napolitano Announces Obama Administration Plan to Give Amnesty to Illegal Aliens

CNSNews.com - Napolitano Announces Obama Administration Plan to Give Amnesty to Illegal Aliens

This is an outrage, one question comes to mind why are we rewarding law breakers? Illegal Aliens break and enter into our country, while millions of immigrants come to America everyday via proper channels. I am sorry I can't sympathies with their plight. There is a right and a wrong way to come into the US. They are coming in the wrong way.

It isn’t that hard, my own great grandparents, immigrated from England and other set from Germany. They came into the country the right way. Sure it take a long time however we have rules.

Borg Pelosi 1 of 256

Anyone else outraged by the actions of Speaker Pelosi… Has turned the House of Representatives into a Borg Collective… where she deactivates those who disagree… I can hear her uttering the phrase “…We are Democrats/Socialists, Resistance is Futile…”
However as the TV Borg Queens Nemeses Captain Kathryn Janeway, who was too smart and outfoxed the Evil Borg Queen on several occasions. Borg Queen Pelosi has a Nemesis as well and her name is Representative Michele Bachmann, she too is smarter and even more pleasing on the eyes than Borg Queen Pelosi.

So we have a Choice we can side with the Pelosi and her Borg Collective or we can Resist with Rep. Michele Bachmann and other Freedom loving Reagan Conservatives.

Maryland Then and NOW

As many of you know my home town is Bethesda, Maryland, I came to Philadelphia for College as many of you know. For most of my life we in Maryland have had two great Governors and two lousy ones. I think we know the Great Ones but for those in Takoma Park it was Governors Schaefer and Governor Ehrlich.

Let us take a little look at Maryland as it was four years ago when during the Ehrlich – Steele Administration. Unemployment was 3.8% was 6.2% in 2002. Republican Governor Ehrlich cut unemployment by half in four years. Democrat Governor Martin O’Malley’s administration has doubled unemployment in four years.

Governor O’Malley signed into law the largest tax increase in history of Maryland. Now he is thinking of raising taxes yet again. Governor Ehrlich left us with a surplus of little more than $3 billion dollars. Governor O’Malley has gone through that and now he wants to raid the rainy day fund.

In addition to all of the above Governor O’Malley totally screwed up slots in Maryland. His policies have driven business out of our state and put small businesses out of Business. Governor Ehrlich and Aris Melissaratos brought countless numbers of new business to Maryland Ritz Carlton moved their corporate headquarters from Atlanta to Maryland; The O’Malley – Brown Administration put up a sign for potential business Closed for all Businesses. Guess it isn’t a surprise that we get this from a Governor who has never run a Business in his life.

A 21 Year Olds Take on Obama Care

Before we get started I will admit I am only 21 years old. However I do believe that in my 21 years I know more about this great country of ours than some professors here at the University of Pennsylvania or even most elected members of the Senate and Congress.

What passed last Saturday in the House of a narrow vote and a bipartisan majority against “Obama Care” was a bad bill that will put me in debt as it will my great grand children. This bill will do nothing more than insure the path towards socialism. They already want to tell us what kind of car we can drive, how big a house we can live in. Now this bill they want to force us to buy health insurance or we can be sent to Jail… what happened to my right to choose!!! Liberals/Progressives seem to cry about right to choose all the time when it comes to abortion.

TAKE ACTION

Call your Senator tell them to Vote Against Obama Care/Baucus Bill. Let them know we just can’t afford to go into Trillions of dollars in debt for a plan that will give illegal Aliens free health insurance.
